"But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." Mathew 23:11,12
Passion is different than pride. When a person has passion about the things of God it is often confused with pride. An example of this is Joseph and how he dreamed and told the dream to his family and he was perceived to be exalting himself over them. The Bible tells us that if we are trying to exalt ourselves then we will be humbled, but if we are humble, God will exalt us. God resists the proud but always assists the humble.
In the end Joseph was exalted by God because it was proven that he was in fact humble and his family saw Joseph's dream just as Joseph told it!
